The gentle click of a pen uncapped is a deep breath before the writing begins.
Uni-ball ZENTO Signature Rollerball Pen, Silver 0.38mm
About Uni-ball ZENTO
Born from the desire to cherish the small changes, quiet reflection, and joy of creation that come through writing, the new ZENTO product line brings a more mindful approach to everyday stationery. Inspired by the ideas of living in the present moment and adding comfort to daily life, Uni-ball ZENTO is designed to make each writing session feel smoother, calmer, and more personally rewarding.
Mitsubishi Pencil spent six years developing ZENTO, beginning in 2019. After debuting in North America, the line launched in Japan in February 2025, as an effort to bring water-based rollerball pens back to the center of everyday writing.
ZENTO Signature
The Signature is the top model of the ZENTO line. Here is the single-color companion to the ZENTO Signature 3-Color. A magnetic cap pulls away from the body with a soft click. It then posts on the back of the pen, where the weight settles evenly and the pen feels complete in the hand. The cap is aluminum, and the barrel combines brass and resin finish.
In Silver, a cool, refined metallic finish pairs with a soft gray grip for a quiet, technical look. The 0.38 mm tip draws fine, precise lines, ideal for planners, margins, and detailed notes.
Unique water-based ZENTO Ink
ZENTO ink is uniquely formulated to deliver a soft, stress-free writing experience with clean, controlled lines. Its cushioning POA (Polyoxyalkylene) surfactant helps reduce friction between the ballpoint tip and paper, reducing writing friction by approximately 40% compared with Uni's conventional water-based ballpoint pens. Special cohesive particles help suppress ink spread, feathering, and bleed-through. The result is a smooth glide that feels gentle on the page while keeping handwriting crisp and easy to read.
