TWSBI Bottled Ink - Blue-Black (70ml)
A dark blue, iron gall ink that is well behaved and can be used with any fountain pen.
This type of ink has a long history and was widely used for writing before the 20th century. Many royal and legal archives from various countries, as well as manuscripts of scholars like Leonardo da Vinci, were written with such ink.
Iron gall ink can penetrate deeply into paper and the writing becomes difficult to erase. It also exhibits excellent waterproof and lightfast properties, ensuring that the ink does not fade even after centuries. The color of the ink may also darken over time due to oxidation. This allows your important documents or letters to withstand the test of time.
The ink formula has been specially adjusted to be compatible with fountain pens, dip pens, and glass pens. However, since iron gall ink is acidic, it is recommended to use and clean the pens more frequently (at least once every three months) to prevent corrosion of the nib.
The 70ml frosted glass bottle comes with a special nozzle which allows every last drop of ink to be used in the bottle. The bottle cap can also fit TWSBI’s Diamond 50 bottle cap, ensuring a mess free fill each time!
