This first collection of TACCIA Ukiyo-e Ink was inspired by the works of Hokusai and Sharaku.
The Ukiyo-e is a Japanese woodblock printing art established in the Edo-period (17th century) and the paintings generally feature the lifestyle, landscapes, scenes of folklores and entertainments is the people at the time.
Hokusai drew 36 kinds of landscape paintings with Mt.Fuji included as a part of the scenery. This unique style of landscape painting has brought tremendous prestige to Hokusai and his work continues to influence the art world today.
Sharaku's Ukiyo-e is famous for depicting the facial caricatures of popular Kabuki actors (Japanese traditional performing arts) either in an exaggerated expression or idealized style.

浮世繪是日本一種版畫藝術,起源於17世紀,主要描繪人們日常生活、風景和戲劇。製作浮世繪需要先由原畫師畫出原畫,經雕版師在木板上雕出圖形,再由刷版師上色和印刷。因需要一色一色印刷,故顏色越豐富,製程便越繁複。
TACCIA從浮世繪大師的畫作擷取靈感,推出了兩彈40ml的墨水。第一彈選取了江戶時代的葛飾北齋和東洲齋寫樂。
葛飾北齋鍾情富士山,並描繪了36幅富士山浮世繪。他對歐洲藝術家影響深遠,如梵谷名作《星夜》中的渦卷圖案便被認為是參考了葛飾北齋的《神奈川沖浪𥚃》。1999年美國雜誌《生活》「千禧年留下偉大業績的一百人」中,他是唯一一位上榜的日本人。
東洲齋寫樂以人物肖像聞名於世,尤其在刻畫歌舞伎演員的「役者繪」中使用雲母粉片做成粉版的創作方式,為浮世繪開啟全新境界。
