In October 2022, TACCIA began a challenging series, in which they would release a new urushi fountain pen each month. Each pen would draw inspiration from a special event or sighting during that month.
Based the design on an ear of rice swinging in the crisp autumn wind, TACCIA released “The Sound of Soushu”, as part of their Iro-joukei series in September 2023.
The pen‘s 12-sided barrel is crafted from ebonite, and finished in a soothing light yellow-orange tone that gradually transitions into a delicate white shade. Achieving this flawless lacquered surface is an arduous process, requiring layers of meticulous hand-application, with thorough drying and polishing in between
The pen comes with a Sailor-made 14k-gold nib.
"The Wind of Soushu" is limited to 88 pieces worldwide.
Compatible Inks: Bottled Inks / Proprietary Sailor Ink Cartridge
