Taccia Empress Fountain Pen - Magic of Tsuzumi Taiko (2025 Limited Edition)
Tsuzumi Taiko is a small hourglass-shaped hand drum with two drumheads supported by tension cords which, when pulled, could alter the pitch. For centuries, its resonant rhythms have accompanied royal ceremonies, vibrant festivals and theatrical performances.
The Empress Magic of Tsuzumi Taiko maki-e fountain pen is painted with a Tsuzumi Taiko, a unique instrument used to create musical phrases that recall passage of time and the changing seasons. Hence, on this pen, the delicate blush of spring blossoms and the fiery warmth of autumn’s yellowing maple leaves are also depicted.
The hand-painted detailing evokes the drum’s dynamic energy, with gold-outlined taiko drums and foliage that appear to leap from the pen’s surface.
Fragments of eggshell and mother-of-pearl, carefully inlaid, shimmer with an ethereal glow. Each stroke of gold powder is a testament to patience, a labor of months, as the artist coaxes depth and motion from the stillness of urushi lacquer.
Each pen is individually signed and numbered, with only 20 pieces crafted worldwide. We currently have one piece available: Limited Number 6.
Nib option: Duo-toned 18kt gold Sailor KOP-size nib, crafted exclusively for Taccia.
Refilling system: Sailor converter cartridges.
Packaged with: Wooden Box, Single-Pen Wrap, 40ml Taccia Fountain Pen Ink (Hiroshige Naka-murasaki, a purple ink), Converter and one Ink Cartridge.

How much is my shipping?
Hong Kong and Macau have a flat rate of HKD 35.
For all other countries, the shipping rate is dependent on the order’s weight and will be calculated at checkout.
Which courier will my order be shipped through?
For Hong Kong and Macau, your order will be shipped through SF Express.
For Taiwan, your orders will be shipped through SF Express or E-Express.
For all other countries, Standard Tracked Shipping is typically shipped through E-Express. Express Tracked Shipping is shipped through Speed Post.
When will my order arrive?
Standard Tracked Shipping: For Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, estimated delivery time is approximately 2-4 working days. For the rest of Asia, 2-7 working days. For the rest of the world, 7-14 working days.
Expedited Shipping: Within Asia, typically 2-4 days. For the rest of the world, around 3-5 days.
