TACCIA Shio-Sai Raden Urushi Fountain Pen - Yonami (Night Waves) 潮騷 螺鈿漆鋼筆 - 夜波 (Limited Edition)

Inspired by the ocean waves, TACCIA has released the "Shio-Sai" series. Craftsmen carefully selected the mother of pearl pieces based on their color for a consistant tone through out each pen, and created patterns that evoke the images of morning waves, evening waves, and night waves to you as you write.

“Raden” is the technique of inlaying mother-of-pearl shells onto an urushi surface. It involving cutting the mother-of-pearl shells into thin pieces, embedding them onto a flat surface and polishing them to form intricate patterns. The raden pieces come in a variety of stunning colors, including blue, green, and red.

Each pen undergoes the following processes, taking several months to complete:

• Base lacquering: The ebonite pen body is coated with multiple layers of black natural lacquer.
• Raden inlay: The raden pieces are meticulously cut by hand into suitable sizes (some even smaller than sesame seeds) and individually embedded by hand into the pen barrel then arranged in wave-like patterns.
• Lacquering and polishing: Gold powder is added, and the entire pen is coated with layers of lacquer, covering the raden pieces. Then, it is meticulously hand-polished until the colors of the raden pieces reappear.

The nib is a Japanese-made 14K gold nib.

The collection offers three color tones, each with a limited quantity of 88 pens:

1. Asanami (Morning Waves) - Blue
2. Yu-nami (Evening Waves) - Orange
3. Yonami (Night Waves) - Purple

這是螺鈿技藝愛好者不可錯過的優秀作品！「螺鈿」，是將貝殼內的珍珠貝母層切割成薄片，再鑲嵌在平面，並研磨拋光以形成圖案的技術。根據貝殼品種與膜層的不同，螺鈿片會折射出藍、綠、紅不等的光彩。

日本TACCIA以海浪為靈感，創作出全新「潮騷」系列。系列一大特色，是整支筆的螺鈿片的色調都保持一致，光選取合適的同色調天然螺鈿片就需要不少心力與成本。

每支筆還需進行以下工序，耗費至少數個月時間製作：

• 上底漆：在硬橡膠筆胎上以薄塗多層的形式，手工塗上黑色天然漆
• 鑲嵌螺鈿：將螺鈿片手工剪裁成合適大小（有些比芝麻還要小），然後逐片逐片人手嵌進筆桿，排列成海浪般的線條
• 上漆再研磨：加入金粉，整支筆再層層上漆，蓋住螺鈿片，然後再手工打磨拋光，直至螺鈿片重現色彩

3. Yonami 夜波（紫色）
