In 2025, Platinum has introduced a new Izumo pen collection: the “Precious Wood” collection. The first of this special series is the Izumo Precious Wood Karin-Kobu (Amboyna Burl) fountain pen.
This limited edition fountain pen is a perfect blend of Japanese craftsmanship and the natural beauty of rare wood. This collector’s piece (limited to only 50 pieces) celebrates the intricate beauty and unique aging of Amboyna burl, renowned for its swirling grain and complex patterns.

About the Platinum Izumo
The Platinum Izumo fountain pens were launched in 2010 and were named after the city of Izumo, the birthplace of Platinum Pen founder, Shunichi Nakata. The Platinum Izumo boasts a voluptuous size and beautiful curves and is equipped with a special Izumo 18kt gold nib. It comes in a variety of finishes such as urushi, wood and woven bamboo. Its classic cigar shape and substantial size certainly make a statement!

How much is my shipping?
Hong Kong and Macau have a flat rate of HKD 35.
For all other countries, the shipping rate is dependent on the order’s weight and will be calculated at checkout.
Which courier will my order be shipped through?
For Hong Kong and Macau, your order will be shipped through SF Express.
For Taiwan, your orders will be shipped through SF Express or E-Express.
For all other countries, Standard Tracked Shipping is typically shipped through E-Express. Express Tracked Shipping is shipped through Speed Post.
When will my order arrive?
Standard Tracked Shipping: For Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, estimated delivery time is approximately 2-4 working days. For the rest of Asia, 2-7 working days. For the rest of the world, 7-14 working days.
Expedited Shipping: Within Asia, typically 2-4 days. For the rest of the world, around 3-5 days.
