Platinum 3776 Kaga Taka Maki-e Fountain Pen - Senmen

"Senmen" is a limited edition of the iconic Platinum 3776 fountain pen. It features a resin body and is adorned with senmen, traditional Japanese fans, which are painted using traditional maki-e techniques.

Each pen is individually handcrafted by skilled artisans. With its unique charm and exceptional writing performance, the Platinum 3776 "Senmen" is a true collector's item for fountain pen enthusiasts.

Uses a 14K gold nib and arrives in one of Platinum's gift boxes.

The Platinum #3776 is a timeless model, one that is oftentimes many's first introduction to 14k gold nibs. First produced in 1978, it's name is derived from the Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest peak. Platinum spent over 5 years designing this pen so that it fits in your hands perfectly. The cap features a slip and seal mechanism, which keeps the ink from drying out, even after being left unused for a year.

In comparison to other brands, Platinum's nib is slightly larger at the shoulders, and offers a unique combination of firmness and responsiveness. It gives you some tactile feedback, and almost feels like you're writing with a pencil! Platinum has continued to make new and exciting versions of the #3776, with various materials and techniques today.

Packaged with: Wooden Pen Box, Converter, Blue Black Cartridge x1

Platinum is a prestigious Japanese pen brand recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovation. Founded in 1919 by Shunichi Nakata in Tokyo, Japan, this beloved pen company was initially named Nakaya Seisakusho, which means “manufacturer” and later renamed as Platinum Pen Company in 1928. Under Shunichi Nakata’s visionary leadership, Platinum became a pioneer in the manufacture and trading of fine writing instruments in areas ranging from introducing the catalogue ordering system, producing the first iridium tipped steel nib and the first platinum nibs, to inventing the first cartridge filled system and the “slip and seal” mechanism to prevent ink from drying out in the pen.

To the present day, Platinum remains dedicated to its quest for innovation to create “the ideal fountain pen” that combines timeless elegance with cutting-edge technology. One of their most notable creations is the 3776, which has several renditions featuring unique crafting techniques and materials, a true classic for any pen lover!
