Platinum 3776 Kaga Taka Maki-e Fountain Pen - Poppy 加賀螺鈿蒔繪鋼筆 - 虞美人（罌粟花）

Papaver rhoeas, also known as common poppy or red poppy, is an annual herbaceous species of flowering planta in the poppy family. It has been widely used in Ukiyo-e works in the Edo period of Japan.

Platinum has used Kaga Maki-e, one of the traditional maki-e techniques used for the art crafts, to create the 3776 “Poppy” fountain pen.

The craftsman first applies 12 layers of natural black lacquer to the pen barrel, then paints poppy flowers with lacquer mixed with gold powder. The breathtaking design is enhanced by the addition of small raden pieces scattered throughout the barrel, creating a mesmerizing shimmer when the light catches it.

“Poppy” comes with a smooth 18K gold nib.

The Platinum #3776 is a timeless model, one that is oftentimes many's first introduction to 14k gold nibs. First produced in 1978, it's name is derived from the Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest peak. Platinum spent over 5 years designing this pen so that it fits in your hands perfectly. The cap features a slip and seal mechanism, which keeps the ink from drying out, even after being left unused for a year.

In comparison to other brands, Platinum's nib is slightly larger at the shoulders, and offers a unique combination of firmness and responsiveness. It gives you some tactile feedback, and almost feels like you're writing with a pencil! Platinum以傳統加賀蒔繪技藝，在筆桿上描繪虞美人花的美態。

匠人先在筆桿仔細塗抹12層天然黑色漆，然後以混合金粉的漆粉繪畫。筆桿鑲嵌有方格狀螺鈿片，由匠人人手剪裁。

筆款裝配高級18K金尖，雕花更複雜精緻，筆觸兼具細緻及彈性。個人感覺甚至比現產3776筆尖更好寫。粗幼尺寸提供F, M, B。
