Platinum 3776 Briar Fountain Pen - Light Briar 原木鋼筆 - 淺色石楠木

Erica Arborea, also known as briar wood, is a type of hard wood that is commonly used for making fountain pens. And was once also a popular material used to make smoking pipes. However, due to the difficulty in obtaining the raw materials, Platinum has decided to discontinue their 3776 Briar series.

The 3776 Briar fountain pens are made with wood from Briarwood shrubs that are between 25 - 100 years. Each pen is handcrafted in Japan and has a unique pattern and color.

The pen series included three versions:

1. Light Briar
2. Dark Briar
3. Sandblasted Briar (subjected to a period of sandblasting to remove its soft part, leaving behind the hard part of the wood)

石楠木主要產於地中海沿岸，使用時多數取用樹上最堅硬的樹節。因為木紋美麗，而且耐高溫、吸水力強、無異味，石楠木被公認為最適合製作煙斗的材料。但由於過度砍伐，優質的石楠木已十分稀缺，日本Platinum無奈地停產3776石楠木系列。

3776石楠木選用樹齡25至100年的舊石楠木製作。每枝皆為人手打造，各擁有獨一無二的紋理，隨年歲顯現出獨特的韻味。

系列共有三款：

1. Light Briar 淺色石楠木
2. Dark Briar 深色石楠木
3. Sandblasted Briar 噴砂石楠木（以高壓噴射顆粒，突出木材堅硬部份的紋理和凹凸手感）
