Bring the majestic beauty of Mt. Fuji above the clouds to your writing with the 2026 release of Platinum’s Fuji series:
Platinum #3776 Century Fuji Unkei Fountain Pen – Unkai 雲海 (Limited Edition)
Platinum introduced the “Fuji Unkei” series in 2023 as the newest chapter in its long-running Mt. Fuji-inspired #3776 Century limited editions, following the “Fuji Five Lakes” and “Fuji Shunkei” series.
“Unkai”, meaning Sea of Clouds 雲海, is the final release of the Fuji Unkei series. It is inspired by the serene scenery of Mt. Fuji rising above layers of clouds glowing softly in the morning light.
The pen captures this tranquil landscape through a refined bi-color design. The cap and grip section are presented in a translucent brown tone reminiscent of Mt. Fuji’s mountainside illuminated at daybreak, while the transparent barrel is decorated with lens-cut facets and engraved grooves to reflect the layered, shimmering movement of a sea of clouds.
The signature dome finial of the Fuji series is retained, with a Mt. Fuji-shaped nut inside the dome and an individual serial number engraved on each pen.
The 14k gold nib is rhodium plated and available in EF, F and M nib sizes.
Included with the pen set are: a converter, a blue black ink cartridge, and one 20ml bottle of exclusive ink in “Fuji-no-Ebizome”, a rich reddish-purple shade inspired by Mt. Fuji at twilight, with a muted tone and golden green sheening nuance depending on paper and ink application.
About the Platinum #3776 Century
Introduced in 2011, the #3776 Century has become the modern flagship model of Platinum. This pen is often many pen lovers’ first introduction to 14k gold nib fountain pens. The numbered name is derived from the peak of Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain. Platinum spent more than five years designing this pen so that it fits in your hands perfectly.
The #3776 Century model is best known for the slip-and-seal mechanism of its cap, which keeps the ink from drying out, even after being left unused for a year.
In comparison to other brands, Platinum’s 14k gold nib is slightly wider at the shoulders and offers a unique combination of firmness and responsiveness. It gives you some tactile feedback and almost feels like you are writing with a pencil. In recent years, Platinum has continued to develop new and exciting versions of the #3776 Century, using different materials, color schemes, textures and decorative techniques.
