Pilot Custom Enju Fountain Pen is a distinguished addition to Pilot’s renowned Custom Series, utilizing Enju wood (槐 or Japanese Pagoda Tree) as its pen body material.
Design and Craftsmanship
At the heart of the Pilot Custom Enju lies its beautifully intricate barrel, expertly lathed from Enju wood—sourced from the revered Japanese Pagoda tree (Sophora japonica).
The natural grain of the Enju wood provides each pen with a one-of-a-kind pattern (“mokume” or “wood grain”), exuding warmth and understated sophistication. To complement the elegant wooden barrel, the pen features lustrous gold accents and a sleek black grip section, resulting in a refined aesthetic that appeals to both traditionalists and modern collectors alike.
About the "Japanese Pagoda Tree" (from the Product Leaflet)
Indigenous to China, the tall, broad-leaved, leguminous Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica) grows to a height of 20 - 25 metres. In China, three Japanese pagoda trees planted during the Shu dynasty (1122-240 B.C.) marked the final resting places of three tutors at the imperial court, hence the alternative name of Chinese scholar tree. Since then, the tree has symbolised authority and advancement. The tree was brought over to Japan for its medicinal properties at the time of Buddhism's arrival. Later designated the Chinese characters meaning long life, the tree came to be highly prized as an auspicious bringer of happiness that would answer prayers for longevity and easy delivery as well as ward off evil spirits.
Displaying excellent hardness and durability, the grain pattern from the Japanese pagoda tree possesses the distinctive feel found in beautiful, heavy wood. As a high-quality and precious material, Japanese pagoda tree has been utilized since time immemorial to decorate the architecture of temples and shrines and for traditional crafts.
Responsive Writing Experience
A hallmark of the Custom Enju is its large #15, two-tone 18-carat gold nib with rhodium plating, designed for a stable and smooth writing experience. The nib’s size and craftsmanship ensure a luxurious, responsive touch that adapts gracefully to a variety of writing styles.
Other Features
Its filling system uses Pilot CON-70 converter or Pilot ink cartridges. The pen comes with a gift box, CON-70 converter, one cartridge and Pensemble Pen Roll.

How much is my shipping?
Hong Kong and Macau have a flat rate of HKD 35.
For all other countries, the shipping rate is dependent on the order’s weight and will be calculated at checkout.
Which courier will my order be shipped through?
For Hong Kong and Macau, your order will be shipped through SF Express.
For Taiwan, your orders will be shipped through SF Express or E-Express.
For all other countries, Standard Tracked Shipping is typically shipped through E-Express. Express Tracked Shipping is shipped through Speed Post.
When will my order arrive?
Standard Tracked Shipping: For Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, estimated delivery time is approximately 2-4 working days. For the rest of Asia, 2-7 working days. For the rest of the world, 7-14 working days.
Expedited Shipping: Within Asia, typically 2-4 days. For the rest of the world, around 3-5 days.
