In Chinese culture, the seventh month is regarded as the Ghost Month, in which ghosts and spirits, including those of deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm.
Inspired by the Ghost Month this summer, Taiwanese brand Lennon Tool Bar has introduced the “All Kinds of Spirits” ink collection. The ink collection includes four ghosts:
Moo-sin-a (Mountain Elves) - Blue-Black
Moo-sin-a (mountain elves) always welcome the lost tourists with great hospitality, but they often serve people with mud balls or worm noodles. They may have acted strangely but they mean well. They simply want to spend time with you.
J-a-koo (Aunt Chair) - Sage Green
In Taiwanese folklores, a little girl was abused to death and became a wraith, or a protector of children known as the Aunt Chair. She hid in the corners of the household and guarded small children. Sometimes, she'd hang out with children but she'd disappear immediately if an adult appeared.
Pit Sian (Pen Fairy) - Grey-Black
A group of children circled around a table at the corner of the classroom. They seemed excited. "Pen Fairy, Pen Fairy, please come out!" they said. After they cast a few spells, the pen held jointly by the children started moving on the paper and wrote "I am the Pen Fairy.” (It works similarly to a Ouija Board)
Hoo-koo-po (Aunt Tiger) - Amber
Hoo-koo-po often shows up in the evening. They say she always pretended to take care of kids but would eat those who weren't willing to sleep. But, maybe she was just a spirit of a tiger, and the story about this child-eating tiger is just something adults made up to trick children to sleep.
