Throughout history, seashells have held their significance amongst us humans. Once used as currency in some civilizations, and often as decorum and inspiration for many art works. Even today, we can’t help but pick up a beautiful sea shell when we see one on the shore. And hold them against our ears to hear the sounds of calming ocean waves.
Taiwan’s sea is abundant in sea life and shell fish. And to honor the beauty of these sea shells, Fine Writing International has collaborated with Seishu, the sole disciple of the renowned Japanese lacquer artist Mushu . Together, they’ve created this special maki-e pen, adorned with seven different seashells.
The pen features a background with decorative seaweed accents, created using techniques like gold and silver foil inlay. The seven seashell motifs on the main body are rendered through various lacquering methods, including shell inlay, colored lacquer, and high-relief carving. Each pen is a true work of art, requiring months of meticulous craftsmanship.
The pen can be used with a converter or ink cartridge and features a rare Jowo No. 5 18K gold Broad nib.

How much is my shipping?
Hong Kong and Macau have a flat rate of HKD 35.
For all other countries, the shipping rate is dependent on the order’s weight and will be calculated at checkout.
Which courier will my order be shipped through?
For Hong Kong and Macau, your order will be shipped through SF Express.
For Taiwan, your orders will be shipped through SF Express or E-Express.
For all other countries, Standard Tracked Shipping is shipped through E-Express. Express Tracked Shipping is shipped through Speed Post.
When will my order arrive?
Standard Tracked Shipping: For Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, estimated delivery time is approximately 2-4 working days. For the rest of Asia, 2-7 working days. For the rest of the world, 7-14 working days.
Expedited Shipping: Within Asia, typically 2-4 days. For the rest of the world, around 3-5 days.

All orders will include a tracking number. Once your order ships, we will send you an email that includes tracking information so that you can monitor where your package is!
